My atelier was a ceramic workshop from the start, an origin evidenced by the old ceramic furnace built into the adjacent hillside. Generations of ceramic crafters have worked here, and their creative inspiration still lingers, a permeating presence of sorts. I personally went to work repairing the workshop’s floor and walls in July 2015, and with the arrival of October it was reborn as Atelier Hijiri Yahagi. I hope to grow with this history-bound space, drawing inspiration from it, to build a brand that shines with the creativity cultivated here.
